My name is Madison Jean Shaw. Born and raised in Southern California, I have always been a creative. My grandmother Evelyn Zoe (rest in peace), was an amazing weaver. She taught me how to sew, crochet, and work with needle art. This is where my fascination with weaving began. If I wasn’t working on a puzzle or math book (courtesy of my dad) I was working on some type of weaving pattern- with yarn or beads. As I grew older, this art always stuck with me in many different ways. It wasn’t until I discovered string art that a fire was lit inside of me. I remember seeing it and saying to myself “I can do that”. I got the tools and everything I needed to make such an art that same day and after that I never stopped. I started doing string art in 2020. I’ve always resonated with the Sirius star system, the Dog Star in the Canis Major constellation. Dogs always resonated with me. My name since I was little has always been MadDog, I was born in the year of the dog, and my last name Shaw means wolf in the Celtic language. My curiosity with my connection to the Dog Star, Sirius, and the Sirian blue beings grew. I mention this because it plays a huge roll in who I am and what my art represents. (I’ll do a whole blog on this) It wasn’t until 2021 after my first Aya journey that I discovered that my ancestors on my mom’s dad’s side are Hopi. The master weavers. The little peaceful ones. Everything started to align and make sense. The Hopi’s were connected with Sirius, Lemuria and Atlantis. It was no longer just about string on a board or beads on a string. It’s about the prophesy. The eagle and condor. The coming together of all nations, all races. Myself and my art reflect that. How sacredly connected we all are. Not just here on earth but throughout the cosmos. My passion lies in the rememberance of our star family, ancient civilizations, and our ancient ancestors. It is about reconnecting with our original angelic DNA to truly remember who we are. Guardians of the planet. Mother Earth. It is my purpose on this planet to help reawaken those to our ancient past and future, through love, understanding and acceptance as the planet goes through this massive purging and healing process.
